Mistaken Identity

Mistaken Identity is just like it sounds, a person, usually the hero or heroine, is mistaken for someone else. Sometimes, it is a purposeful lie and sometimes it is a misunderstanding.

Personally, my favorite case tends to turn up in romance. As I am sure you can guess, there isn’t a lot of contemporary books with this trope. The internet and social media make it a little hard for people to pretend to be someone else. However, there are some. So here is a list of some of my favorite contemporary and historical romance books with the Mistaken Identity trope.
