Trope Tuesday: Found Family

Found Family

I am back with another Trope Tuesday Link-Up! This week is Found Family. As a reminder each week there will be a trope for you to use as inspiration, find the trope list here. All post types are welcome: lists, book reviews, anything really, feel free to make it your own. Please link back to All the Books and Chocolate in your own post so that others know where to find more information. You can find the link-up link at the bottom of the page.

Found Family

Found Family is one of my favorite tropes. With the found family trope you have characters who treat each other like family. This Trope usually involves the loss of family for characters either through death or some sort of disagreement/issue between family members. I love watching the characters relations grow throughout the story.

Six of Crows
23437156

This book is a perfect example of the trope. A group of misfits who band together and become a family. It is a fun read and the fact these characters aren’t exactly law-abiding only makes it more entertaining

Aurora Cycle
Aurora Rising

Quite honestly all of Jay Kristoff’s books have the found family trope in some way, but this series especially. You can tell the bonds are forming in Aurora Rising, and the strengthen even more in Aurora Burning.

A Court of Mist and Fury
A Court of Mist and Fury

Sarah J. Maas is another author that uses the found family in all of her books. But the night court from A Court of Mist and Fury is the definition of found family.

The Lunar Chronicles
Cinder

The Lunar Chronciles has quite the cast of characters and I love how this group of people who should never have met, end up working together and becoming a famiy.

The Raven Boys

The Raven Boys is one of my favorite books in this trope. It isn’t just the core group of characters that fall into the trope but the side characters as well.
