Thank you to Entangled Publishing for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Suzanne looking to get her Muse back travels to Credence Colorado. Instead of finding her muse looking at the gorgeous Colorado landscapes, she finds it with Joshua Grady, the gruff rancher whose cottage she is renting.
To get out of having to go home for Christmas, she claims she wants to spend it with her new boyfriend, Joshua. When her parents decide to travel to Colorado over the holiday, Sazanne has to convince Joshua to pretend to be her boyfriend.
The Trouble with Christmas is basically a Hallmark movie with a little more steam, which is amazing because I happen to love Hallmark movies. There is a brief enemies to lovers thing happening here, but the enemies part doesn’t last long, as well as a fake relationship, are those my two favorite tropes, why yes they are so I knew from the get-go I was going to like this book.
Grady was very gruff, but it made sense given his backstory. He had a ton of baggage, especially this time of year. I liked that Suzanne, in typical Hallmark movie fashion, was chatty and outgoing, almost to an annoying degree. I did feel like Grady agreed a little too easily to the fake relationship. Though I suppose embarrassing paintings make for a decent reason.
This is a quick fun read that is sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
