Synopsis

Everyone’s for sale, including me. One moment I’m the forgotten daughter of one of the most wealthy families in the country, and the next I’m the blushing bride in an arranged marriage. My fate is sealed in my wedded union with a complete stranger.

In public, Perry Constantine is the life of the party. Easygoing. Adored. In private, he’s brooding. Dark. Angry. But so am I. It’s a contest of wills to see who will break in the bedroom first, and while I try to remain strong, I find myself craving the very man I swore to hate.

My husband.

Review

I absolutely adored Perry Constantine, and so I was both thrilled and terrified to read The Reluctant Bride.

I am happy to report that The reluctant Bride was wonderful. That fun-loving Perry we see in the Cinderella series is there, but it is a facade. This Perry is grown up. He’s been exposed to some darker things, and he isn’t the same man he was. I loved seeing this side of Perry. He is still the charmer I loved. He’s just more mature now. I loved Charlotte as well. She is a tragic heroine, but she is strong. She is trying to make the best out of a bad situation, and I had to respect her.

This book focuses more on Perry and Charlotte as characters, and while there are hints on where the story is going, there isn’t too much plot in this book. Instead, the book is told in alternating POVs between Perry and Charlotte, each of them giving some backstory that explains their current situation. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, and if you have read any of the other midnight dynasty books, you would know what I mean. When it finally did, I was upset with myself for not seeing it coming.

I am very excited to see where this story goes and see Charlotte and Perry fighting against their families.
