Review
I’ve been waiting to get to Inked in Lies in the Fallen men series for a while now, I’ve heard so many good things, and I have to admit I needed to know more about Nova.
Typically childhood friends’ stories are not my thing, but I enjoyed Nova and Lyla’s story. However, I will say I feel like there was a little too much childhood featured in this book for my taste. But I understand the need for the back story.
I loved seeing Nova finally realize Lyla was an adult and do something about it. Lyla was not one to be tamed, though, and I love how she took matters Into her own hands! She was brave and intelligent, and I enjoyed her.
Of course, this wouldn’t be the Fallen Men without seeing all of my favorite characters. As usual, this story was about finding a place to belong; I loved getting that from Nova’s story. I also loved that, in Nova’s case, it wasn’t about letting go of his actual family, but I liked seeing how these two families coexist.
Stephanie Namath-Parker was fantastic as Lyla! She was able to bring both child and adult Lyla to life. Aiden Snow was great as Nova as well.
