Synopsis

They say family is a circle of strength.
But when mine is ripped away from me at the hands of a monster,
My strength is all that’s left.
I’ll give my last breath before they take anything else from me.
Even if I’m the one they wanted all along.
Find Silas Black.
Those were my father’s last words.
So I did.
Only, I found so much more than just a man who was prepared to help me get my revenge.
I found a tortured soul who in return gave me hope.
But I also found his broken sons.
One hates me.
One desires me.
And Silas wants to save me.
They say revenge is a dish best served cold, but If I keep getting caught up in the heat of the moment, I’ll be my own demise.

Review

I’m going to start off by saying that Four is not for everyone. Yes, it’s very violent, but what I think will turn people off is that the Harem is made up of a father and his two sons. While I have no issue with it, and in fact, liked it, other might. There is no sword crossing or any of that, so it’s not as bad as it could be, but you’ve been warned.

Four was a quick read for me once I got into it. Which I have to admit took a bit. The characters took a little bit to grow on me. Also, this is told entirely from Iris’s perspective, and I think it would have helped with multiple POVs. Even after finishing the book, I don’t feel like I know much about the characters, even Iris.

Iris was a decent character, immature, but that isn’t wholly unexpected given her age and sheltered existence. However, even still, I found myself getting annoyed with her. I also felt like there were plot points that didn’t quite add up. The story was interesting, and it kept my attention, but it could have been fleshed out a little more. The Blacks were an intriguing group of men. I understand while they were closed off, but it was so much that it wasn’t till the very end of the book that I even really started liking any of them.

Four has an interesting story and decent steam, but I would have liked more character development.
