Review: The Kiss Thief by L.J. Shen

I figured I’d start February off right with a little romance!!

They say your first kiss should be earned.

Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky.

They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred.

Mine were broken before we left church.

They say your heart only beats for one man.

Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end.

I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit.

Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.

They say that all great love stories have a happy ending.

I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter.

One kiss.
Two men.
Three lives.
Entwined together.

And somewhere between these two men, I had to find my forever.

Um a super hot enemies to lovers romance, yes, please!

I had seen this book around, read the synopsis once or twice and I finally decided to pick it up because well it was on Kindle Unlimited an I was in the mood for a romance.  Well, let me tell you this book was worth my monthly subscription fee!

I need to make it known that I love the enemies to lovers trope.  I think its the snarkiness, but I just can’t get enough of that trope.  I also think I love it because usually to women in these are sassy strong women who don’t take any crap.  I can say that Francesca was mostly like that.  I had a few problems with her character, but it was very realistic and I did love her strength.

Wolfe, Wolfe was pretty hot.  I do feel like there is no way that he could actually be a Senator, but I’m willing to suspend reality a little bit.  Like maybe making him Mayor of Chicago would have been a little bit better for believability reasons, but if you can overlook that, which I was able to the plot is great.  It’s a quick read that kept me up late dying to see how this all played out.

Bottom Line

Like enemies to lovers, well give this one a shot.

Overall: 4
