** In honor of the release of A Court of Frost yesterday and Starlight, my next three reviews will from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series **
Short synopsis: Feyre kills a fae and is forced to answer for her crime by living in the Spring Court.
Initial Thoughts: I’d read this one before, but honestly didn’t remember a thing! I apparently enjoyed it more this time. Though in some ways I wish I didn’t know as much about the series as I do.
Characters: 4 – I enjoyed Feyre, and maybe it’s because I know a little too much about what is to come, but I had trouble getting into Tamlin. The other characters were great, Lucien and Rhysand!
Plot: 4 – Enough of a mystery to keep me glued to the pages, a good story, with interesting characters!
Originality: 3 – So this is just Beauty and the beast in Faerie, not crazy original, but the added details kept things fresh.
Predictability: 4– So I am late to the party, I’ve been a little spoiled, and I know there are 2 other books in the series, so I can draw my own obvious conclusions, but that ending though, that was a little unexpected.
Romance: 3 – So as I said, Tamlin was not really doing it for me, especially in the second half of the book. The strong silent type isn’t my thing I guess.
World Building: 5 – Wonderful! A great job of giving readers enough information, in a way that moved the story forward.
Overall: 4
A very enjoyable read and I can’t wait to read the next one!
