A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

Synopsis

Feyre has undergone more trials than one human woman can carry in her heart. Though she’s now been granted the powers and lifespan of the High Fae, she is haunted by her time Under the Mountain and the terrible deeds she performed to save the lives of Tamlin and his people.

As her marriage to Tamlin approaches, Feyre’s hollowness and nightmares consume her. She finds herself split into two different people: one who upholds her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court, and one who lives out her life in the Spring Court with Tamlin. While Feyre navigates a dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms. She might just be the key to stopping it, but only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world in turmoil.

Review

Initial Thoughts: Holy Crap!! I still don’t think I actually comprehend what I read in A Court of Mist and Fury!

Characters: 5 – Need I say more than Rhysand?!?  He was so complex, and Feyre really developed in this book!  And Rhysand’s inner circle, can they be my new best friends, please?

Plot: 5 –  This went from essentially re-telling of Beauty and the Beast to full-on political intrigue.  The plot was amazing, and though the book was long, it did not feel slow at all.

Originality: 4 – I don’t know what it was, maybe the characters or the plot, but this book felt different to me.

Predictability: 4 – So there were a few things that were predictable, but the ending!  I literally gasped and then cried! And the whole book was full of twists and turns that I was surprised by, and I had been spoiled.

Romance: 5 –   Rhysand… swoon and a half.  This is one of the most adult relationships I’ve had the pleasure to read! I just love everything about it.

Overall: 5

Read this if you haven’t please, so we can talk about!
