Playing with Monsters comes with a warning and if you’ve read any other Amelia Hutchins books you probably understand. These books are dark and the character especially, in this case, Lucien, are not all that likable, at least not at first.
As the story gets told and the characters evolve, you still may not like them, but perhaps you understand them a bit more. The story is fantastic by the way, full of mystery that had me wanting to know what was going to happen next every step of the way.
There is a lot of lore in this book, and as an avid paranormal romance reader, I loved it. This is also high on the smut scale. Be advised about both before you pick this one up. If you’re okay with those two elements then I highly suggest you pick it up.
