Synopsis

The first time I laid eyes on Lydia Decker, I couldn’t speak. Or breathe. Or string two coherent thoughts together. And I don’t mean any of that figuratively. I’m not talking about a guy being floored by the sight of a gorgeous woman—although, of course, Lydia is gorgeous beyond words.

No, when I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker—my physical therapist—I was lying flat on my back in the ICU, high as a kite on painkillers, breathing on a ventilator, my bones as broken and splintered as my spirit. When I first laid eyes on Lydia Decker, she was a ray of light in the dark. Hope for the hopeless. A salve for my singed and battered soul.

She said she’d been assigned to fix me. That she was there to bring me back to life. She said helping me was her calling. And then she touched me. Physically, emotionally, spiritually. She healed me. And I fell in love. But what I didn’t know . . . what I couldn’t possibly know . . . was that Lydia Decker needed fixing far more than I ever did.

Review

Okay, it’s official. I love this series.  I’ve read the second book in the series Captian and loved that.  And as soon as I was introduced to Colby, I knew I needed to go back to Hero, the first book.  These books are hilarious, heartwarming, and sexy.

Colby and Lydia’s story is a bit heartbreaking given their circumstances, but also very sweet.  You route for them from the very beginning. Obviously, there is conflict in the book because it would be boring without it, but it’s not drama.  The conflict in the book felt very real and not just a device forced in the book, just two people facing authentic problems.

I absolutely adore the Morgan family, like my favorite fictional family status.  I really loved getting to know them more in this book. I also enjoyed how wonderful Lauren Roew does at giving each of the brothers (the first two at least) a story that matches them.

After reading these two books, I literally plan to read every one of Lauren Rowe’s books.  And I have to say I’m very excited about Keene’s story.
