Beneath This Mask is the story of a woman running from her past. She runs to New Orleans, changes her name, looks, everything, and does her best to stay out of the spotlight. That is until she meets New Orleans politician Simon, and has to choose between him and staying hidden.

Beneath This Mask was an interesting read. It was a romance, but there was so much more. There was a lot of action in this book. I really enjoyed Charlie and what a strong character she was. While I often didn’t agree with her choices I respected her. Even though the book was told partially from Simon’s point of view, I never felt like I knew much about him.
One thing that I didn’t love was the insta love between both characters, I never really felt the connection between them, and honestly, they both seemed great and all but we never really saw them fall for each other.
This book was entertaining and the plot moved along at a good pace, perhaps I would have liked a little more, but all in all, it was a good read.
