Romance, Friends to Lovers
Book 1 in the The Guys Who Got Away Series
Let me just say — none of this was supposed to happen.
I didn’t expect the letter to go viral. I didn’t think anyone would figure out who Dear Sexy Ex was. And I especially never thought he would find out about it.
Yeah, bit of a miscalculation there.
But see, I need the money to fund my brand new venture. And Dear Sexy Ex, well, it turns out he needs me to save his business.
By becoming his fake fiancée.
Yup, that’s the pickle I find myself in — pretending to be madly in love with the charming, brilliant, and utterly infuriating man known as Dear Sexy Ex.
Only, it’s not an act. And he can never know.Goodreads

I love Lauren Blakely Books, I read them quite often. They are funny, cute and sexy and Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend doesn’t disappoint. It is a friends to lovers romance where everyone can tell the main characters are meant to be, except for the main characters.
Oliver and Summer have been friends for years and they know each other so well. What I liked about this book was that there wasn’t a huge long drawn out slow burn. They didn’t jump into bed with one another, but the feelings were there. So often with friends to lovers there is that “just kiss already” feeling. I think the fake dating thing really helped with that. They were thrust into a situation that made them act much differently than they normally would, and the defenses they put up were forced to come down.
I really liked both Oliver and Summer. Summer did have some weird baggage that a simple conversation would have solved very easily, but I understand it was a little necessary for the story. Oliver was very charming, and he also had some baggage, but for me, his made more sense.
I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
