2021 Reading Challenges

2021 Reading Challenges

It is almost 2021 (massive cheers). I know I am pretty excited! Today I am sharing with you five 2021 reading challenges you might want to consider trying out. While I don’t know if I will be participating in all five, I love reading challenges. They are great for several reasons, but I love them for two main reasons, they can help you get to all those books still on your TBR, and they can introduce you to all sorts of new genres and authors that you may not normally try out.

Novel Night’s Beat the Backlist Challenge

Want a 2021 Reading challenge that will help you get to all of those books still on your TBR? Well, this one is for you! There are 52 different prompts for you to read for your backlist of books. There is also an awesome spreadsheet and a bingo graphic for you to use. They really had me at that spreadsheet! So head over to Novel Night and check out the challenge!

Romance Book Reading Challenge

You knew I was going to have a romance reading challenge, right? I mean, come on… This one hosted by She Reads Romance Books is great, and it is a great way to explore some romance subgenres you maybe haven’t checked out yet. Each month there is an overall theme, so you can read a book fitting that theme. If you are looking for more, there are also four prompts fitting the monthly theme that you can read for a 48 book challenge. This one looks super fun, and I will be participating. I am especially excited about February’s theme.

Uncorked Reading Challenge

Looking for a little more diversity? The Uncorked 2021 Reading Challenge is for you! It is hosted by the Uncorked Librarian and each month has a fun theme like a book set on a train. If you get stuck on a month’s theme don’t worry there are recommendations for each month!

Booklist Queen’s 2021 Reaching Challenge

Book List Queen’s 2021 Reading Challenge has a list of 52 prompts for you to complete. This is one that is especially good for someone who wants to read some books out of their comfort zone! Some of my favorite prompts are set in Australia and a book by a noble prize winner.

Book Riot’s 2021 Read Harder Challenge

Want a challenge that will help you explore different books, but 52 books seems daunting? Well, Book Riot’s challenge is only 24 prompts, and these prompts are fantastic. If you are looking to add some diversity to your reading, then this challenge is for you! I can’t wait to get started on this one!

I will be posting more 2021 reading challenges on my Pinterest board, so make sure to give that a follow as well. Do you host a challenge or have one you think I should check out? Let me know in the comments!
